Hunt Information

We have a modest bunk lodge with bathroom facilities, kitchen ,bunk beds, satellite TV, heat and air conditioning. There are hotels within 15 miles of us if you wish. We fix breakfast after the morning hunt then dinner after the evening hunt. If we prepare meals the cost is $10 per person per day. My father cooks a lot for us and nobody goes hungry!

When you kill a hog we have an area to skin it and a walk in cooler. You can use our facilities free of charge or if you want us to skin and quarter the hog for you there will be a charge of $25. Each hunter gets 1 hog per day in their hunt package. If you are here with us 2 days you can kill 2 hogs if you have the opportunity. If you kill more than two, the third pig is $1.50 per pound. We count the smallest hog as the third no matter which order you kill them. No size or sex restrictions on hogs. For example, the first morning a 40 pound hog comes in and you kill it then that evening you kill a 150 pounder. If you are on a 2 day hunt that is your 2 hogs. You can still hunt the next day and if a 200 pounder comes out and you kill it, you are only charged extra for the 40 pounder. The last thing we want is for someone to pass up a big hog because they don't want to pay $1.50 per pound for a trophy hog. These hogs vary in size and color. You decide if you want to take them when they come out. These hogs are delicious eating so we tell people not to be afraid to shoot a small hog because it will probably be some of the best pork you will ever eat!
We use ATVs to get to stands and you are welcome to bring yours if you prefer. Lots of our hunters prefer to bring their own so they can come and go as they please. If your group has 4 people they will be the only hunters in camp unless one of our members are there. If the group is under 4 people, we occasionally mix parties to make it financially feasible to put a hunt together. We feed about 1500 to 2000 pounds of corn a week plus gas traveling to the camp so we do try to mix parties under 4 people. There will be no more than 6 hunters at any time due to lodging. Kids are welcome and will be subjected to an environment that will be pleasing to anyone. We currently offer hog hunts and hog/deer combo hunts. We do not guide any other type of hunt, but if you hunt during January or February, you may kill a bobcat with no added expense. Feel free to shoot coyotes anytime.
You will need a South Carolina hunting license. A 3 day license is available for $40 for non residents at local stores or online at SCDNR You do not need a big game license to hunt hogs, just regular hunting license will cover it.
A lot of hunters ask what size weapon to bring. My suggestion is .243 or larger but the biggest concern is accuracy at 100 yards. Come prepared to shoot a head shot at 100 yards. We suggest you shoot the hogs behind the ear to ensure a quick kill because some of our land is so thick you cannot track the hogs. If we can, we sometimes help hunters recover kills, but you are ultimately responsible for tracking them. If you shoot a head shot, you are not going to be in a dangerous situation tracking a wounded boar and your meat will be intact after your kill.
